Wanna Zumba?
Debbie
Orex from the YMCA will teach us Zumba! Zumba fitness is a dance-fitness
exercise program that motivates its participants by incorporating
a party-like atmosphere. Zumba instructors guide their students
to
follow a combination of dance steps such as salsa, merengue, and
reggaetone. Zumba also uses fitness exercises such as squats, knee-lifts,
and bicep curls. Zumba fitness is characterized by "booty-shaking"
moves that make people smile, laugh and let loose! Zumba music uses
mostly latin rhythms but also uses other upbeat music from calypso
to swing. Dress in comfortable clothing or exercise wear.

The
Granby Newcomers and Neighbors Club was established in 1970 for
the purpose of welcoming new people to the community in a warm and
friendly manner. Since that time, the group has expanded to include
established as well as new women of Granby and the surrounding
area. It has helped to increase the resources that are available
around town. Social activities are available to members spouses
and children.
Membership meetings are usually held the second Thursday of each
month during the school year (the club is off in June, July and
August). Membership dues are $25 annually. Anyone interested in
joining the Club may attend two meetings to become informed about
the club without being charged dues; however, dues must be paid
for continued participation after those two meetings. Join anytime
of the year (dues are pro-rated
to reflect your join date).
Granby Newcomers is a social organization for women that is heavily
dependent upon its members for success. The more effort members
put into the Club, the more benefits everyone can reap from it.
The Club is non-profit and annually donates proceeds from its fundraisers
to various Granby organizations. Please join us for lots of fun
its a great way to meet others in the community!
