Examples of some past events:

Newcomers Family Picnic - from 3-6 PM at Salmon Brook Park, pavilion # 4 (near the bath house) We can be flexible, so arrive early & stay late! Call Liddy Doyle with questions at 653-4726. Bring your own picnic style food & beverages, drop by and relax with friends. Please remember, no alcoholic beverages allowed at the park. There are 2 older, charcoal grills which can be used. There is a large grassy area near the pavilion, basketball courts, a large slide, swings and jungle gym (these are geared for bigger kids - the kiddie playscape is a short walk away). Salmon Brook runs directly behind this pavilion and is easily accessible to big and little feet via a pebbly path. Pack for your little adventurers accordingly: boots, water shoes, swimsuits?! The Park’s pond is fenced-in but Town Rec reminds us that children need to be watched closely as parts of the fencing can be sharp.

Open House Social
This is our first club social of the year.. For all of you veteran Newcomers, this event replaces the "Wine & Cheese" Party we've held in years past, because to date we have no Gourmet Club board members to organize a Wine & Cheese party. The event is for members and guests. To simplify the event this year, we ask that you bring an appetizer or dessert of your choice to the social and your favorite beverage to share.

Annual Holiday Party
Bring nothing except your appetite! This fully catered event (by Class Act Caterers of Simsbury) includes everything from food to wine/beer/soda to a small holiday gift for the ladies. Hosted by a fellow Newcomer, this event is the perfect kick-off to the Holiday season. Cost is $40 per person, all inclusive.
