Special
Interest Groups
Our
current offerings are listed below. The smaller groups allow members to
meet people in a more personal setting than the monthly meetings and at
the same time enjoy a common interest together.
We
want to emphasize that special interest groups make our club stimulating
and rewarding. If you would like to start a special interest group at
any time during our year, please email info@granbynewcomers.com.
Some ideas would be: quilting, hiking, wine tasting, etc.

Nights Club

Interested
members gather to watch a movie either in a member home or out at
the theater. Movie night is a great way to get together with friends.

it will be a great opportunity for you to spend time on your project.
We will meet on the first Tuesday of every month. If the movie was
based on a book, often members will read the book before the movie
night. Reading NOT required! |

Clubs have been Newcomers favorites for years but do not have leaders
for this year. Please contact the club president to restart any of these
groups.

members gather monthly off-site (at members homes on a rotating
basis) to discuss an agreed-upon book. Titles are announced at the general
meetings and in the monthly newsletter. The book is not all we discuss...
come join us for some food and great conversation!
Stitch
and B____ Club!
This
monthly craft night is the perfect opportunity to work on your "UFOs"
(Unfinished Objects). Bring your project materials to rotating members
homes for a fun night out with the girls. Project ideas to consider bringing
are: cross-stitching, knitting, crocheting, sewing/quilting, scrapbooking,
etc.
Gourmet
Club

you like to cook? Do you like to try new foods? Do you and your husband
need a night out? Then, Gourmet is right for you! Gourmet will give you
a chance to meet new people and enjoy great food. Groups of 6-10 people
(typically couples) meet at an assigned member's home for a variety of
dinners throughout the season. The season runs from October through June.
Members each prepare a different course of the meal and then come together
and enjoy. All costs are shared equally among the participants. For those
of you who wish to be full-time members, (attending 5 or more dinners),
the fee will be $15 for the year. For those of you who wish to be part-time
members, (attending 4 or less dinners), the fee will be $7.50 for the
year. These fees cover beverages, paper goods, and mailing costs.
